Education

All 5 members of Majestic Brass are keen and experienced educators and workshop leaders, and the group has a strong passion for music education. Individually they have taken part and helped run projects with organisations such as the Philharmonia Orchestra, the Royal College of Music, Live Music Now, Create Arts, the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Shakespeare Company to name a few. As a group we have run workshops with children and adults of all ages, with current projects including an A-level composition project, a brass player recruitment session, and a music and maths project. Majestic Brass, with its diversely talented musicians, can tailor make a workshop or series of workshops for any occasion or audience and are currently running a year long A-level music composition project and a music and maths cross curricular project with three 6th form centres in Surrey as well as designing a series of primary school workshops for Sowerby Music's 'Music For Life' programme in North Yorkshire. In 2007, Majestic Brass we're invited back to the Royal College of Music as the Leverhulme Group Junior Fellowship ensemble giving them the opportunity to extend their own studies as well as pass on their experience and guidance to the current RCM brass students. There is no such thing as a typical workshop for Majestic Brass and each session will be presented in a fun and interactive environment. Please contact us to discuss ideas for projects and details. |
